I've been involved in the Los Angeles real estate market for almost 25 years. I was born and raised in England and began my entrepreneurial journey when I was 18, opening an antique store to sell unique pieces internationally. After I sold that business at 21, I moved to London and built a successful career in the UK film industry before moving to Los Angeles.
My husband and I bought our first home in the heart of Los Angeles, close to Hancock Park. It needed a lot of work and took a few years for us to renovate fully, but we were able to sell it for a nice profit to put toward our current home.
As successful as we were, we didn't have a great experience with the agent who helped us buy the house. We would have loved better advice and access to resources that would have helped us make better decisions.
Instead, we were overwhelmed and I've never forgotten how that made us feel. So when it came time to sell our home, I decided to get my real estate license to make sure we did things right this time around and we set a new price record in the neighborhood.
We were the first among our friends to buy and sell a home, so when they were ready they came to me for advice and once I started helping friends and realized I had a real passion for real estate I made this my full time career.
